Using MaxxLive is simple and convenient. For maximum preservation and safety, follow these steps:
- Prepare the packaging
- Airtight packaging: MaxxLive must be used with packaging that can be hermetically sealed — for example plastic bags closed by heat sealing, plastic cans sealed with a double-seam lid, or easy-peel lids closed by weld sealing — so that the ethanol vapour is retained inside and can work effectively.

- Placing the MaxxLive sachet
- Pack it with the product: once the bakery product (bread, cake, mochi, pie and so on) is in the package, immediately place the MaxxLive sachet — still unopened — inside.
- Sealing
- Seal immediately: after placing the MaxxLive sachet, seal the package tightly straight away.
- It starts working: once the package is sealed, the ethanol sachet releases alcohol vapour at a controlled rate, inhibiting microorganisms effectively and continuously.
- Storage
- Store normally: products can be kept at room temperature (for example 1-6 months, depending on the product). Where a much longer extended shelf life is needed (more than 6 months) — for export products travelling long distances, for instance — the effect of ethanol can be combined with cold storage (refrigeration) to extend shelf life further, using two preservation principles working together in synergy (dual defence).

Additional advice: for confectionery or bakery products classified as dry foods (water activity, aw < 0.6) — such as crisp cookies, crackers, crisp biscuits, crisp meringue or crisp foi thong — the priority is preserving crispness, because these products already have water activity too low for microorganisms to grow.
